The event comprised a full-day pre-conference session preceding the ISAM 2025 Annual Congress. The Innovation Day for Addiction Therapeutics serves as a platform that facilitates collaboration among academia, the healthcare sector, regulatory agencies, and the industry, thereby driving innovation and accelerating the development of effective tools and technologies for the assessment and treatment of addiction and its comorbidities globally. Shekar’s keynote presentation, titled “Opportunities and Challenges in Developing Therapeutics to Treat Stimulant and Synthetic Opioid Overdose,” addressed the opportunities and challenges encountered by new biopharmaceutical companies in identifying an unmet medical need, establishing collaborative partnerships with academic institutions, navigating the regulatory framework, comprehending market dynamics, securing funding from both public and private sources, and developing comprehensive go-to-market strategies for commercializing therapeutic products.
